Studio Furnishings

Topdown Bottomup Gallery, Vancouver BC — 2013

Studio Furnishing, as its title denotes, illustrates the accumulation of “stuff’ that is in the artist studio. All of these objects either affect the production of art by being there, or rather in the way, or as an inspiration. They work as behavioral modification. For example, Pill Table is the accumulation of medication representing middle age decline and counter pointing the indulgence of Whiskey Table. Burbage on the other hand represents patriarchal and phallic death by mimicking both the accumulation of stretcher bars and resembling a camera.
